Abby update - April 13

Well, I promised some photos from that special trip to the zoo, so here they are:



Today we dropped by Wimberley Junior High to "un-enroll" and to say thank you to the teachers and counselors who were so compassionate to Abby there. We were very impressed by the character and concern of the Danforth staff and will miss them all, especially Mrs. Ruiz, who did such a good job of guiding Abby back into her schoolwork, but, as for Abby, she is still celebrating the idea that her life will not include the complexities of the unfamiliar school on a daily basis. We are still hoping to work out a way to use the public school speech therapy services, so perhaps we'll get to see our friends there from time to time.

I tucked a work trip to Austin into this afternoon's schedule before taking Abby to riding therapy. She was riding Merlin around the barrels and the poles at a trot--they're looking really great together! But we're all looking forward to trying to keep the schedule simple this weekend.
