Abby update - January 17

Just a quick post, as I think everyone else is asleep, and I almost am...

We enjoyed another day at home together in the Wimberley Wintery Wonderland. Today ice had replaced our sleet-snow, and Frank and Abby had great fun cracking 1/2" ice sheets off the vehicles and licking 18" icicles (thankfully, icicles don't act the same as the frost on the metal ice trays that my grandmother used to have--ouch!). Therapy was cancelled again today, so we didn't get to be a part of the dozens of motor vehicle accidents in Austin, but Gordon and Abby did exercises and games this morning, and Abby and I drove into San Marcos this afternoon for a pediatrician appointment.

I do have to close with a praise. After writing last night about Abby's memory problems, I made the mistake of staying up to read online information about the persistence of cognitive effects from head injuries (never do this at night if you are facing any medical concerns--I should know this...), thus ruining a perfectly good night for sleeping. Today Abby still had some of the same issues, of course, but this evening when I picked up the chapter book I have been reading to her, she told me the name of the book and its main characters. Patience and persistence (and faith)--I should know these things by now...if only I could remember...

Thanks for your prayers,
Lee Ann & snoozing family
